An emergency meeting of the National Security Committee has decided to deploy Nepal Army (NA) in those places where demonstrations have turned out of control. 
The meeting, which was summoned after violent and unrestrained clash in Tikapur, Kailali that resulted in over dozen deaths including police personnel, took the decision to authorize local administration to deploy Army if it was deemed essential to contain the protests from turning violent. 
Protests against the proposed demarcation of federal provinces have turned violent in several parts of Terai-Madhesh.  
Addressing the meeting of the legislature-parliament today, Home Minister Bamdev Gautam informed that the decision was taken after demonstrations went out of control in Tikapur and other parts of the country including Rautahat and Sarlahi.
The Home Minister told the House that the Chief District Officers of the district were issued directive to declare the areas where demonstrations have turned violent as 'riot zone' and deploy Army  in those areas as per the Local Administration Act.
