DHANGADI, Aug. 22: The curfew enforced in Tikapur since 9:00 pm on Friday has been after 6:00 am this morning. The curfew had been imposed in order to take the situation under control following clashes between those supporting the undivided far west and those for a Tharuhat province.
As a result, life is gradually returning to normalcy since this morning in Tikapur, according to administrative officer at the Area Administration Office Tikapur, Suman Dhital. Shops have opened and the general public getting on with their normal life.
However, the District Administration Office has issued a prohibitory order to put a ban on assemblies, rallies and demonstrations in Tikapur area spreading to the Patharaiya VDC in the north, Dhansingpur VDC in the south, Karnali river in the east and Manuwa VDC in the west.
A large number of police personnel have also been mobilized in and around Tikapur area considering the rising security challenge.
Meanwhile, an all-side meeting has also been summoned for today in order to make an effort to maintain social goodwill, said Dhital.
The Tharuhat supporters have meanwhile called for a banda in Kailali, that continues since the past week. RSS
