The Madhesi People’s Rights Forum Democratic (MJF-D) led by Bijaya Kumar Gachchadar has hinted of consensus if the top three parties agree on eight provinces. The meeting of the MJF (D) held at party office, Sanepa on Saturday reiterated that the seven-province federalism model would not be acceptable to it.The party has demanded delineating three provinces in the southern plains and five in the hill and mountain to acknowledge the geographic identity.According to the party, it will launch protests in the districts demanding eight provinces in recognition of the Tharu identity.
“Party leaders are determined to go to the districts for struggles. But their struggle will be different from other parties’ struggle. If the eight provinces are carved, we obviously join the consensus process,” General Secretary of the party, Ram Janam Chaudhari said after the meeting.
The MJF-D left the alliance with top three parties after the latter agreed on the seven provinces on Friday.RSS
